Senior Fullstack Engineer - Localization in Berlin

SumUp is hiring a Senior Fullstack Engineer for its Localization team in Berlin, Germany. In this senior-level engineering role requiring a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience, you will build and own systems that enable merchants across 38 markets to use SumUp products in their native language.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimise localization solutions across product, CMS, CRM, marketing, and design systems.
• Improve the localization management platform to enhance visibility, control, and automation.
• Integrate automated language and quality checks into localization workflows.
• Collaborate with Web, Mobile, Website, and Comms Platform teams to enable technical localization capabilities.
• Explore AI and language technology applications while meeting compliance requirements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience and a Bachelor's degree.
• Strong backend engineering background, ideally with Go, or alternative knowledge in Python, Rust, or C++.
• Experience building RESTful APIs in microservices or distributed systems.
• Working knowledge of PostgreSQL and Kafka.
• Exposure to React.js, TypeScript, and translation management systems.
