Senior Kotlin Engineer - München

Flix is looking for a Senior Kotlin Engineer (m/f/d) for the B2B Sales & Distribution team in München, Bayern. In this senior level sales-technology role requiring a Bachelor's degree, you will design and develop backend services in Kotlin and Spring Boot while helping modernize the architecture for partner-facing platforms, internal portals, and AI agentic tools.

Core Responsibilities and Technical Environment

• Build and maintain REST APIs and distributed systems used by internal and external partners.
• Contribute to architectural decisions, legacy system modernization, and backend observability using DataDog.
• Work within an AI-native development environment featuring automated code reviews and internal Claude Code plugins.
• Manage cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines using AWS, Kubernetes, and relational databases like MySQL and PostgreSQL.

Requirements and Background

Candidates need at least 5 years of professional backend development experience with JVM languages, including a minimum of 2 years of commercial experience with Kotlin. Applicants should also bring hands-on Spring Boot experience, solid SQL knowledge, and a strong foundation in clean code practices. Familiarity with AWS, Kubernetes, Kafka, Terraform, and LLM integrations is preferred.
