Senior Manager Cost Optimization - Building System (Construction focus) (all genders)

GROPYUS, a technology-driven construction company specializing in sustainable multi-story timber residential buildings, is seeking a Senior Manager Cost Optimization - Building Systems for their Berlin location. In this senior-level construction role, you will work at the intersection of product development, engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and construction to drive cost competitiveness across innovative prefabricated building systems.

Core Responsibilities

• Implement the Building Systems Cost Optimization strategy and apply methodologies like design-to-cost, value engineering, and target-costing.
• Identify and prioritize cost optimization opportunities for building systems, components, and materials.
• Maintain transparent cost models and benchmarks by comparing estimated versus actual cost performance.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Construction, and R&D teams.

Requirements and Qualifications

Candidates need intermediate education and 5+ years of extensive experience in cost engineering, value engineering, construction cost management, design optimization, or technical project delivery. You should possess a strong understanding of construction methodologies, materials, contractor interfaces, and project cost drivers, alongside a proven track record of delivering measurable cost reductions. Fluency in English and a willingness to undertake usual business travel between sites are required. Additional preference is given to candidates with experience in industrialized or modular construction, timber methods, German-speaking markets, Lean Six Sigma certification, and fluent German skills.
