Senior Product Engineer in Europe

Polar is building the next standard for monetization platforms, combining billing and analytics to support modern startups. We are looking for a Senior Product Engineer to join our remote-first, engineering-led team across Europe on a senior-level basis. In this role, you will work across our entire stack to design, build, and ship features end-to-end, helping startup founders scale their businesses.

Role & Responsibilities

• Ship daily towards building the best monetization platform for developers in the world.
• Design, build, and ship features, enhancements, and delights end-to-end across frontend, backend, and infrastructure.
• Collaborate on architecture design, best practices, and high-quality code across our stack.
• Continuously improve service quality and the overall developer experience.
• Engage frequently with our developer community to identify and solve pain points.

Requirements and Tech Stack

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree and bring 7+ years of experience building, shipping, and scaling high-quality software with a strong product sense. You should be comfortable jumping autonomously between frontend development (React, Next.js, Tailwind CSS, Shadcn, TanStack Router), backend systems (Python with FastAPI, Postgres, Redis, Dramatiq), and cloud infrastructure (Vercel, Render, AWS), or have experience with a variety of similar programming languages and the desire to learn new tools quickly.

Bonus points are awarded to applicants who are ex-founders, startup CTOs, open source maintainers, indie hackers, or those with specific experience in payments, billing, and developer tools. Salary is market competitive.
