Senior Software Engineer (Stream Processing)

Nebius, a Nasdaq-listed cloud infrastructure company for the global AI economy, is hiring a Senior Software Engineer (Stream Processing) in Berlin to join its IT team. In this senior-level role requiring a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience, you will build the event-processing pipelines and backend services that translate product usage into revenue. Your work will directly handle near-real-time ingestion, validation, enrichment, and pricing of continuous usage events from across the Nebius AI cloud platform.

Key Responsibilities for the Berlin IT Role

• Build stateful streaming pipelines that compute billed consumption in near real time.
• Develop and operate Go services that ingest usage events, move data between storage systems, and deliver consumption data through usage APIs and billing data exports.
• Guarantee correctness under failures through idempotency, exactly-once processing, and reconciliation.
• Operate transactional storage, persistent queues, and change data capture under high throughput.
• Build reusable streaming infrastructure and improve the reliability, scalability, latency, and observability of the billing platform with end-to-end ownership.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree, bring 5+ years of professional experience, and have strong software engineering fundamentals alongside a background in building and operating backend, streaming, or data-intensive systems. You should be able to reason about consistency and data correctness under failures, work with databases, messaging systems, or event-processing platforms, investigate unfamiliar systems independently, and learn the team's tech stack (which includes Go, Python, Apache Flink, YDB, YTsaurus, and Kubernetes). Additional preference is given to applicants with Go development, Kubernetes operations, or stateful stream-processing framework experience like Apache Flink or Kafka Streams. Applicants must be authorized to work in Germany.
