Senior Solutions Architect (Data & AI) in the UK
Databricks is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect (Data & AI) for a remote contract opportunity located in Leeds or Manchester, United Kingdom, focusing on the Enterprise Retail or CPG (UKI Enterprise) industry. Operating at the intersection of strategic account planning and deep technical expertise, this senior-level architecture role positions you as the definitive technical authority for the organisation's most complex customer engagements.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive technical and consumption strategies for major customer accounts to influence platform adoption and revenue growth.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and own senior-level technical relationships focused on enterprise data and AI strategy.
- Lead complex architecture engagements, including multi-workload platforms, enterprise-wide migrations, real-time systems, and large-scale AI/ML.
- Orchestrate cross-functional teams consisting of DSAs, SSAs, Partners, and Product to deliver enterprise-grade solutions.
- Coach and develop junior solutions architects while contributing to Field Engineering thought leadership through workshops and customer-facing content.
Requirements and Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in solutions architecture, principal engineering, technical pre-sales leadership, or a senior customer-facing technical role.
- Expert-level coding proficiency in Python, SQL, and ideally Spark/PySpark, backed by a live coding assessment and platform build during the interview process.
- Deep expertise in enterprise data architecture, covering distributed systems at scale, streaming and real-time systems, lakehouse design patterns, data governance frameworks, and cloud-native platforms.
- Expert-level knowledge of the Databricks Platform or equivalent depth in competing platforms.
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a quantitative discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
