Speechify is hiring a Senior Level Software Engineer, Data Infrastructure & Acquisition for its IT team in Berlin, Germany. Speechify builds text-to-speech products used by over 50 million people, transforming documents, books, and web pages into audio. The globally distributed team operates entirely remotely with nearly 200 contributors.
Role Responsibilities
- Source new audio data and integrate it into the ingestion pipeline.
- Operate and extend cloud infrastructure on GCP, managed with Terraform.
- Collaborate with AI scientists to optimize data cost, throughput, and quality.
- Contribute to the AI team's dataset roadmap for consumer and enterprise products.
Candidate Requirements
- Education background including a PhD, specialized diploma, or a BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional software development experience.
- Proficiency in Python and bash scripting within Linux environments.
- Experience with Docker, Infrastructure-as-Code, and major cloud providers like GCP.
- Familiarity with web crawlers and large-scale data processing workflows is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
Compensation and Benefits
