Software Engineer, Platform

Speechify is hiring an entry-level Software Engineer, Platform in Germany to join its 100% distributed IT team. With nearly 200 global team members and no physical offices, Speechify builds text-to-speech products used by over 50 million people to convert PDFs, books, articles, and websites into audio.

Platform Engineering Role

The Platform team manages the backend infrastructure powering Speechify's public text-to-speech API, payments, subscriptions, authentication, consumption tracking, and analytics. In this IT role, you will design and own backend APIs, improve existing services for speed and reliability, and build B2B integrations. You will work alongside mobile, web, and product teams to scale backend architecture in a flat organizational structure.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelors degree and 0 to 2 years of experience
• Proven backend experience in TypeScript and Node (required)
• Direct experience with GCP, alongside working knowledge of AWS, Azure, or other cloud platforms
• Familiarity with Docker, containerized deployments, and deploying high-availability applications on Kubernetes is preferred
• Practical daily use of AI agents and a habit of verifying results directly against logs, database state, or actual requests

Interview Process & Compensation
