Solutions Architect, Pre-Sales - German Defense & Intelligence in Berlin
Planet is seeking a mid-level Solutions Architect, Pre-Sales - German Defense & Intelligence for a hybrid position based in the Berlin, Germany office, requiring attendance three days per week. In this architecture role, you will design complex solutions to demonstrate the value of Planet's satellite imaging data and cloud-based platform to the German Defense and Intelligence community.
Core Responsibilities
- Build and deliver technical product demonstrations and presentations highlighting Planet's platform capabilities.
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customer management and technical staff, crafting solutions architecture that addresses specific business challenges.
- Prepare technical responses for tenders, RFIs, RFPs, and unsolicited proposals in partnership with the sales team.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Customer Success, Business Development, and Product Management to represent customer needs and share feedback.
- Present to key executive government stakeholders within the German Government while driving technical strategy across account plans.
- Meet assigned quarterly and annual sales and operational objectives, and mentor junior team members while contributing to training materials.
Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of experience supporting the German Defense and Intelligence community in a technical capacity.
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience working with GIS and Remote Sensing users within the defense industry, including IMINT, ISR, and related fields.
- Familiarity with geospatial software and programming languages such as QGIS, SocetGXP, ArcGIS, GDAL, and Python.
- Fluency in German (excellent verbal and written communication skills) and professional working proficiency in English.
- Availability to travel internationally and domestically up to 25%.
