Ashby is seeking a senior-level Staff Design Engineer - UK to join our growing engineering team. This unique engineering position requires a professional who truly excels at both design and code, working directly within a dedicated department championed by our Co-Founder and VP of Engineering, Abhik. We require a Bachelors degree and 2+ years of experience for this role, with a salary of $100/month.
Unlike standard frontend roles or prototype-only positions, our Design Engineers combine technical implementation with deep UX and UI vision. You will tackle our most challenging design problems, enhance our in-house design system, and consult on bespoke design work for Product Engineers. Recent projects delivered by our team include redesigning the mobile web app, building composable design system components for setup wizards, and improving information hierarchy for candidate assessments.
You will shape a complex product impacting over 100,000 weekly active users, millions of candidates per week, and notable customers like Notion, Linear, Shopify, and Snowflake. Our design engineering team is currently doubling from five to over ten people. Because we ship fast and test ideas directly with our own recruiting team and users, you will gather real feedback quickly rather than relying on extensive upfront research and user testing.
