Lunar Energy is currently seeking a Senior Level Staff Firmware Engineer for an Engineering role based in the UK. In this position, you will drive the full product development lifecycle of firmware and software, helping to transition homes to 100% clean energy.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop wireless network communication solutions for high-volume products to ensure continuous 24/7 reliability.
- Design firmware software for home energy product components, including RF communication protocols, mobile app interfaces, and system diagnostics.
- Drive design discussions on system architecture and participate in code reviews.
- Collaborate across disciplines to ensure products get to market quickly and operate reliably.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in a computer-engineering related field, or demonstrated commensurate ability.
- 5+ years of experience delivering firmware for new products as part of a team.
- Proficiency in C, working familiarity with Python, and optional Rust knowledge.
- Experience with IP stack protocols such as Ethernet, WiFi, TCP, UDP, and HTTPS, alongside working knowledge of Bluetooth/BLE and the Espressif ecosystem.
- Familiarity with lab test equipment including Oscilloscopes and Logic Analyzers.
