Senior Telecom Engineer - UK Telecom Jobs at Five9

Five9 is seeking an experienced Senior Telecom Engineer to join its cloud operations organization on a full-time basis, with this position based anywhere in the UK. As part of a team providing cloud contact center software solutions, you will work within a 24/7 production support environment to maintain high network availability and service quality.

Telecom Role Responsibilities and Technical Requirements

In this senior-level telecommunications role, you will interface directly with customer IT teams, handle escalations from the Network Operations Center, manage telecom service providers, and participate in an on-call emergency rotation. Candidates must possess 3 to 5 years of telecom engineer experience working with VoIP and SIP voice applications, backed by intermediate education.

  • Strong working knowledge of VoIP, SIP, RTP, TCP/IP, MPLS, and CODECs such as G.711 and G.729.
  • Experience with Ribbon SBCs, PSX, softswitches, and media servers.
  • Ability to analyze RTP streams for MOS, jitter, latency, and packet loss using tools like Wireshark.
  • Proficiency with intermediate Linux/Unix system administration commands.
