1KOMMA5° is building the energy system of the future through their Heartbeat AI technology, with the goal of transitioning 1.5 million households to renewable energy by 2030. They are currently seeking a Working Student Product Designer to join their team in Berlin. In this design role, you will help create intuitive, user-centric interfaces for the company's Virtual Assembly Line tools, directly impacting how customers interact with integrated solar, battery, and heat pump systems.

Your Responsibilities

You will work alongside designers, product managers, data scientists, and developers to define problems and create high-fidelity design solutions. Your day-to-day tasks will involve:

  • Leading research initiatives, including conducting user interviews, surveys, and usability testing.
  • Designing elegant, user-centric solutions for new and existing product features.
  • Collaborating with the wider design team to refine your craft and understanding of complex product problems.

Candidate Profile

To be eligible for this position, you must currently be enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program at a German university in a field such as User Experience Design, Interaction Design, or Human-Computer Interaction. You should have a strong grasp of Figma and a portfolio that demonstrates your design process and visual quality. A proactive, energized attitude is essential. While not required, fluency in German and prior experience in the climate tech industry are considered assets.
